The Department of Interventional Radiology and Peripheral Vascular Diseases at Metropolitan General is equipped with state-of-the-art technology and staffed by highly specialized Interventional Radiologists, offering the most advanced minimally invasive treatment techniques.

The Department of Interventional Radiology, in collaboration with the First Gynecology Clinic, has established a dedicated Fibroid Treatment Team specializing in the treatment of uterine fibroids through uterine artery embolization (UAE), a minimally invasive procedure that blocks the blood supply feeding the fibroids.

The team is led by Dr. Nikolaos Pleveris, Obstetrician-Gynecologist, and Dr. Emmanouil Theodoropoulos and Dr. Michalis Glynos, Interventional Radiologists.
